Abstract Lily

This is a bit more fiddling around in Lightroom with a closeup photo of a lily.  Mostly, I tried to soften the edges and bump up the colors just a bit.

Thinking of Fall

The very cool for July weather here in DC has me thinking of Fall, which is my favorite season as a photographer.  The colors of the season and the crisp, clear air make for great photography.  This photo was taken near the Tidal Basin a few years back when I started playing around with moving the camera during the exposure.  I've also tweaked it a bit in Lightroom to really get the colors to pop.

In Honor of Apollo45

Forty-five years ago today, Apollo 11 launched from Kennedy Space Center.  In honor of that momentous occasion, here's a moon shot for you.

Sundial Detail

Just outside the Smithsonian Castle there's a lovely garden and a bronze sundial.  This is a closeup shot of a part of the sundial.  I fiddled around with this in Lightroom quite a bit and tried to give it a more graphical look...almost as if it were a logo design.

150th Birthday for Yosemite!

I'm about a week late with this post, but in honor of Yosemite National Park's 150th Birthday, here's a photo I took of Yosemite Falls back in the spring of 2000.  This was taken while I still using slide film (Fuji Velvia 50 - wow - what great slide film!).
