Moon over Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, March 2000

I took this photo back in 2000, during my last semester of law school. I took a trip up to Yosemite and camped for a few days during spring break. I was still really getting a feel for shooting slide film and got very lucky with this shot just at sunset. When I look at a photo like this, it really reminds me of the power of taking photos. Of course photos give us a visual history of what's in the photo. But for me, I can see exactly where I was when I shot this, almost like I've been transported back to the side of the road, not far from the campground, quickly setting up my tripod out of the back of the car so that I could catch the last light of the day.
