More from Kensington

Here are a couple of more from my Kensington shoot.  The top photo is of a small garden statute outside an antique store.  I really like the edge detail of the dress in the lower left of the frame.  The second photo was my attempt at capturing just how many jet contrails there were.  There must have been 15 or more.

Morning over Kensington, Maryland

I finally made it out for an early morning shoot with my new 70D.  Many thanks to my family who helped make the new camera a reality!  This was taking from the train station parking lot in Kensington.  I could not believe all the contrails this morning.  Just amazing.  I'll have a few more from Kensington in the coming days (maybe even tomorrow if the snow materializes!).

Here Comes the Sun

This is an oldie from my slide film days.  For my first post of 2014, which happens to be on a dreary, foggy, rainy winter day, I thought you might appreciate something sunny!

Blue Hydrangea

This shot goes back a long ways to my parents' first place in Savannah.  This was shot on film back in 2000 during the summer I was studying for the bar exam.  I'm not 100% certain, but this was probably done on Fuji Velvia 50 slide film, which is my absolute favorite film ever!  Anyway, I hope you enjoy - this is one of my favorites.

A star leaf?

I've been hunting for a group of photos from a workshop I took some time ago.  This is one of them.  I may go back and fiddle with this one in Photoshop to play with the colors a bit.  Enjoy. 

Fall Color with a Twist

Some beautiful fall color, with a bit of a twist, here in Silver Spring, Maryland.  As regular blog visitors will note, I'm on a bit of a kick with these sorts of motion shots.  I tried a new technique today by using a neutral density filter to keep from terribly overexposing the shot on a bright, sunny day.  Enjoy!

Clifton Inn Garden #2

 

Another photo from our recent trip to Charlottesville.  I was photographing some flowers in the garden at the Clifton Inn and I decided to play around a bit with some camera movement.  I like this one for the feeling of it being stained glass.  Enjoy!
