What is that?
I have this fun lens called a Lens Baby. The idea behind it is that you can shift the central focal point of a photograph and create some interesting effects. For me, the ability to get a bit abstract with an object makes the lens great fun.

Purple Lily
Not sure this translates as well on the white background of the blog. I was playing around with using off-camera flash. In this case, the flash was fired from just below and behind the lily.

San Francisco Lands End Flower
This is from a trip to San Francisco a couple of years ago. I was playing a bit with the depth of field and like how this one turned out. Enjoy!

Jefferson Memorial
I shot this on a chilly fall morning a couple of years ago. It was about a 20 second exposure and you can see a faint streak of light on the left, just about the tree - that's a plane taking off from National Airport.
Capitol Dome
Since I haven't had much time to do much shooting lately, I wanted to blog some older photos in my collection. This is a close-up of the Capitol Dome. This was actually shot on slide film and scanned. Looking at it now, some eight years or so after it was shot, I see some of the technical flaws, but I hope you enjoy it.

Salt Marsh Grass, near Wellfleet, Mass
I played around with this a bit in post-processing to enhance the colors some and to bring out some of the highlights in the grass.
Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod
Back to blogging a bit. This was taken last summer (2010) on a foggy morning at Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod. What I love about this image is how serene it appears, but just in the distance you can see the faint hint of some heavy rolling surf. This was shot at low tide and we had the beach to ourselves. Despite the 52 degree water temp, Nevan had great fun running in and out of the surf. My ankles feel cold just thinking about chasing him around.
